Legislative Goals and Vision 2013

GOALS

Restored revenues
Revenues collected by the state are used to pay for New Mexico’s public education systems. Unfortunately, the amount of revenues invested by lawmakers in K-12 schools, colleges, universities, students, and education employees has declined dramatically in the last decade. To implement New Mexico’s constitutional mandate to sufficiently fund world-class education systems, lawmakers shall pass legislation to restore revenue generators by:

NYSUT Members: Tell It Like It Is

NYSUT is clear:

  • Stop the obsession with standardized testing!
  • Invest in student learning, not testing!
  • Devote time and resources to getting evaluations and common core right!
