AFT Vermont today joined with thousands of other AFT members across the country to Reclaim the Promise of public higher education, early education, and affordable, accessible health care. The group launched its 2014 legislative agenda and celebrated the support of two key Vermont state senators.

Our public schools represent our nation’s commitment to helping all children dream their dreams and achieve them. A high-quality public education for all children is an economic necessity, an anchor of democracy, a moral imperative and a fundamental civil right, without which none of our other rights can be fully realized.

Concerned faculty, staff and students attended the Kean BOT meeting at the Kean at Ocean Campus in Toms River to call for tenure for professors unfairly denied.
